WASHINGTON, November 11. /TASS/. Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev’s visit to Iran earlier this week is causing concern in the United States, since Washington sees enhanced Russian-Iranian ties as a profound threat, US Department of State Spokesperson Ned Price said.
"All of this is a concern," he told reporters on Thursday, adding that "the entire world should view" enhanced Russian-Iranian partnership as "a profound threat."
Price added that his country was "working with the international community, including at the United Nations, to address the threats that are posed by Russia and Iran separately and the bilateral cooperation that we’ve seen between the two of them."
Patrushev visited Tehran earlier this week on an invitation from Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani. According to the Russian Security Council press office, the schedule of the visit involved Russian-Iranian consultations with the attendance of delegates from several ministries and governmental agencies from the two states.
