Over 45 mln early cast ballots received from 47 US states — report

The number of early votes is expected to grow as mail is being delivered

NEW YORK, November 8. /TASS/. US election commission have received over 45 million ballots cast by people who voted early in 47 states, CNN reported Tuesday citing local election commissions and poll centers.

Texas is leading with over 5.4 million votes cast early, followed by Florida (over 4.9 million) and California (over 4.7 million). Georgia and North Carolina sent over 2.5 million and over 2.1 million correspondingly.

The number of early votes is expected to grow as mail is being delivered.

Midterm elections are taking place in the US on November 8. The Republicans have a chance to gain control over at least one chamber of the Congress, which will allow them to block most of Joe Biden’s lawmaking initiatives for the next two years.
