Ukrainian presidential office advisor calls to strike drone makers in Iran

Earlier on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said in an interview for the Fars news agency that Iran shipped a small number of drones to Moscow several months ahead of the special military operation

KIEV, November 5. /TASS/. Ukrainian Presidential Office Advisor Mikhail Podolyak called to carry out strikes on Iranian enterprises that he claims produce drones that are being shipped to Russia for use in the special military operation.

"I believe that it is necessary not to simply [impose] sanctions or total embargo on Iran. I believe that one could carry out targeted strikes on production of drones, ballistic missiles and so on," he said, speaking on Ukrainian TV Saturday.

Earlier on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said in an interview for the Fars news agency that Iran shipped a small number of drones to Moscow several months ahead of the special military operation. According to the Al Mayadeen TV channel, he also said that Ukraine, pressured by the US, cancelled the meeting on weapons issues with the Iranian delegation, which was supposed to take place in Poland.

In August, the Washington Post published an article that claimed that Iran ships drones to Russia. Later, the US administration made similar statements. Moscow and Tehran repeatedly debunked these statements. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov called such reports fake news and underscored that the Russian Army uses domestically-produced drones.
