Moldovan authorities condemn provocations in Transnistria that threaten peace in country

This week, several terror attacks were committed in Transnistria

CHISINAU, April 29. /TASS/. Moldovan authorities condemn provocations in unrecognized Transnistria that could pose a threat to peace in the country, the Moldovan Reintegration Bureau told a TASS correspondent on Friday, commenting on this week's terrorist attacks in the unrecognized republic.

"Moldovan authorities condemn provocations in unrecognized Transnistria that could pose a threat to peace in the country," the bureau stressed. Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebryan, the Bureau’s head, together with Moldovan presidential adviser Dorin Recean, discussed security and humanitarian cooperation issues with Transnistrian President Vadim Krasnoselsky.

The talks were the first at this level between Chisinau and Tiraspol since Maia Sandu was elected president of Moldova in late 2020. Sandu herself said after taking office that she did not intend to meet with the head of the unrecognized republic.

This week, several terror attacks were committed in Transnistria. Leader of the unrecognized Transnistria Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky said that they were organized in Ukraine. The authorities declared the highest level of terror threat and bolstered security measures.

Earlier, representatives of Tiraspol accused Chisinau of a lack of proper communication and understanding during the period of emergency between the two banks of the Dniester River.
