Lukashenko proposes drafting Russian-Belarusian integration strategy until 2030

Building up industrial integration is a promising area of cooperation, the Belarusian leader stressed

MINSK, July 1. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has proposed that Moscow and Minsk work out a long-term strategy on their integration within the Union State to focus on key vectors of development, the Belarusian state-run news agency BelTA reported on Thursday.

"I suggest that we consider drafting a long-term strategy of the Union State’s integration, for example, until 2030, to imbue it with specific projects, taking into account key priorities and development vectors," Lukashenko said at a plenary meeting of the forum on Belarusian and Russian regions.

Building up industrial integration is a promising area of cooperation, the Belarusian leader stressed.

"This is very important for us. Unfortunately, after the break-up of the Soviet Union, we somewhat deactivated the enterprises that were engaged in integration plans both in Belarus and Russia. But we have agreed that we have good potential and will revive these enterprises. They will operate at the highest level in the coming years," Lukashenko assured.
