Short and free skating programs earned him 314.54 points (104.50 for the short program + 210.04 for the free skate).

"I didn't expect such scores, to be honest. I’d thought I would get far less. I was initially not very worried. I could calm myself. I coped with everything while in training. So I told myself I know how to go about this performance," Gumennik told the media.

"How to determine a team of participants in the Olympics? We should choose criteria and then summarize," he added.
