Ukraine’s 'Aidar' battalion, Russian ex-lawmaker Gudkov added to extremist list — agency

The list now also includes Sergey Zazulya, who was arrested on suspicion of sabotage at a gas distribution station in the Leningrad Region

MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. The Federal Financial Monitoring Service of Russia added Ukraine’s "Aidar" battalion and former Russian State Duma deputy Gennady Gudkov to the list of terrorists and extremists, according to the agency’s website.

The list now also includes Sergey Zazulya, who was arrested on suspicion of sabotage at a gas distribution station in the Leningrad Region, as well as Usman Baratov, president of the "Vatandosh" inter-regional Uzbek fraternity, detained in Moscow.

In 2012, Gudkov was stripped of the Duma deputy duties for violation of the law on the status of deputy. The reason was his business activities and membership in management of commercial organizations.

The Aidar assault battalion has been active since 2014; its fighters are being accused of numerous crimes, including by international organizations.
