Audience of Russian movies in 2023 reaches over 90 mln viewers in 2023

Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova noted that there was 2,278 cinemas, and around 6,000 movie halls in 2023

MOSCOW, December 28. /TASS/. Russian movie audiences in cinemas more than doubled in 2023 compared to 2021, reaching more than 90 million people, Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova said during a TASS press conference dedicated to summarizing the year in the Russian film business.

"Attendance at Russian films more than doubled - in 2021 we had 37.5 mln viewers, 2023 - more than 90 mln viewers," she said.

Lyubimova noted that there was 2,179 cinemas in Russia in 2021, and 2,278 cinemas, and around 6,000 movie halls in 2023.
