MOSCOW, May 21. /TASS/. Rosatom intends to connect a new power unit at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant-2 (Kursk NPP-2) to the energy grid in 2025, Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev announced during a speech at the Federation Council.
"Our main objective is not only to ensure the safety of nuclear power plants but also to help maintain a normal life in the city, and to guarantee the uninterrupted functioning of the social sector, education, and healthcare systems. We are managing to achieve this despite, essentially, a frontline situation, the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant successfully fulfilled all its electricity generation targets last year," he said.
"Construction of new units at Kursk NPP-2 has not been halted for even a minute. This year, we are confident that we will connect a new power unit at Kursk NPP to the grid," Likhachev added.
