Lavrov draws West’s attention to rights of Russian speakers in Ukraine

It was also noted that countries of the Western coalition have only one position on the Ukrainian crisis, according to which Russia's actions in Ukraine "were unprovoked"

NEW DELHI, March 2. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New Delhi, drew the attention of Western counterparts to the situation regarding the rights of Russian speakers in Ukraine.

"Today in backchannel conversations with Western colleagues, I drew their attention to this (the situation with the rights of Russian speakers in Ukraine - TASS). They look at you with a blank stare, and cannot say anything in response," he told a news conference in New Delhi.

Lavrov also noted that countries of the Western coalition have only one position on the Ukrainian crisis, according to which Russia's actions in Ukraine "were unprovoked". Russia's actions "reflect a reaction to the war that the West had been preparing for years and for which it was arming the Ukrainian regime, which, let me reiterate this, came to power as a result of a coup," the top diplomat added.
