Putin says deputy PM’s data on COVID cases among vaccinated are right

Earlier, the Russian President noted that ten percent of people contracted the infection after vaccination but they never developed any serious complications

MOSCOW, June 30. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday the data provided by Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova that only 2.5% of those vaccinated against COVID-19 catch the disease should be relied on.

Earlier, during his annual question-and-answer session, Putin said that ten percent of people contract the infection after vaccination but they never develop any serious complications.

The session’s moderator, Ekaterina Berzovskaya, noted that Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova had challenged the figure, saying that only 2.5% of those vaccinated contract the disease, and asked which of the two figures is to be relied on.

"Naturally, Tatiana Alexeyevna’s [Golikova], Because she is a professional and deals with these matters every day. She was health minister and knows, what she is talking about," Putin said.

Meanwhile, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said last Friday that only 0.5% of the vaccinated contract COVID-19.
