MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev has offered to develop collective approaches to cooperation within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in the sphere of biosecurity.

"We will need to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the pandemic’s consequences, developing collective approaches to CSTO cooperation in the sphere of biosecurity," he said during a video session of the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils.

"The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic poses one of the biggest challenges. The rapid spread of the coronavirus has changed the usual way of life practically in the entire world, the global political and economic systems are being tested," he stated. Patrushev added that in his opinion, the CSTO states are dealing well with this difficult situation.

"In order to overcome the fallout of the pandemic, it is important to exchange current information, provide the necessary aid to each other, namely through the supply of tests, medicine, means of individual protection, vaccine development and testing, and conducting consultations on providing medical aid to the citizens of our states," Patrushev noted.
