NEW YORK, April 22. /TASS/. SpaceX’s Cargo Dragon freighter has docked with the International Space Station as part of the 32nd cargo delivery mission, according to a NASA webcast.
After blasting off from the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Monday morning, Cargo Dragon docked with the orbital station autonomously at 08:40 US East Coast time. The journey from Earth to the orbital outpost took about 28 hours.
In addition to food, supplies and equipment, Cargo Dragon delivered to the station an improved air quality monitoring system and two atomic clocks, which are regarded as the most accurate time measuring tools.
In addition to Cargo Dragon, the US uses the Cygnus spacecraft from Northrop Grumman Corporation to dispatche cargoes to the ISS, but they burn in the atmosphere when returning to Earth.
