TOMSK, November 22. /TASS/. Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) will be the first university in Russia to conduct practical nuclear research in cooperation with Indonesia, within the framework of the agreement with the National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia. The agreement was signed at the sidelines of a major international nuclear industry event, Atomexpo-2022 International Forum, TPU's press service said Tuesday.
"Tomsk Polytechnic University was the first Russian university to sign a formal cooperation agreement with the National Agency for Research and Innovation of the Republic of Indonesia," the report said.
According to TPU Rector Dmitry Sednev, the cooperation agreement will especially focus on joint practical research in the interests of Indonesia.
"Together we will develop international nuclear education programs and train personnel for projects on energy and non-energy applications of nuclear technologies. Every year, employees of the National Agency will be trained under the TPU's Nuclear Science and Technology master's program and under the Nuclear Power Plants: Design, Operation and Decommissioning training program for scientific and academic personnel," Sednev added.
Earlier, TPU was the first in the country to officially cooperate with Indonesia’s Polytechnic Institute of Nuclear Technology. Tomsk Polytechnic University was chosen as a base for the development of human resources in the field of nuclear technology in Indonesia, including joint projects with Russia's Rosatom State Corporation.
