MOSCOW, May 7 (Itar-Tass) - State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev was summoned for an interrogation in the Russian Investigative Committee over the embezzlement case at the Skolkovo innovation centre.
“Ponomarev is summoned to a detective as a witness in the criminal case over a massive embezzlement against senior vice-president of the Skolkovo Foundation Alexei Beltyukov,” the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee told Itar-Tass.
“The detectives found that from February 2011 to February 2012 Alexei Beltyukov illegally passed to State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev 750,000 dollars from the Skolkovo Foundation,” the Russian Investigative Committee reported. “Beltyukov was seeking to conceal the embezzlement of such a large sum of money, concluding the contracts with Ponomarev on behalf of the foundation. Under these contracts Ponomarev was to deliver ten lectures in several Russian cities for 300,000 dollars and to do the scientific-research work for 450,000 dollars,” the press service reported.
“In the criminal case all circumstances are being investigated, the information about lectures really delivered by Ponomarev is being checked, as well as the scientific value, novelty, the grounds for scientific suppositions, which Ponomarev had made in his scientific-research work,” the Russian Investigative Committee reported before.
