Russia’s new R-SAVER-1 boat control range is virtually unlimited — manufacturer

The twin-engine boat is capable of reaching speeds of up to 55 knots over a distance of up to 350 nautical miles

RIYADH, February 11. /TASS/. The control and communication range of Russia's newest R-SAVER-1 unmanned marine rescue boat is effectively limitless, a spokesperson for the developer told TASS at the World Defense Show 2026 international exhibition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

"The twin-engine boat is capable of reaching speeds of up to 55 knots over a distance of up to 350 nautical miles, operating in both sea and ocean conditions, with maximum waves of up to 3 on the Beaufort scale and wind speeds of up to 15 m/s. The boat, equipped with a global navigation satellite system, has an almost boundless communication and control range," the company said.

The company added that the robotic boat was developed by Russian engineers for search and rescue operations at sea, environmental monitoring of water areas, surveying ships and other objects in distress at sea, damaged and sunken vessels, data relay, and cargo delivery to hard-to-reach areas round the clock, year-round, and in certain weather conditions. "The vessel can operate in temperatures from -2°C to +55°C," the developer said.

The boat model has been unveiled at the Riyadh exhibition, which is taking place from February 8 to 12.
