Russian troops evacuate over 14,600 civilians to Russia in past day

According to Head of Russia’s National Defense Management Center Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, a total of 798,237 people, including 149,419 children, have been evacuated since the start of Russia’s special military operation

MOSCOW, April 14. /TASS/. Russian troops evacuated over 14,600 civilians from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and dangerous areas in Ukraine to Russia in the past day, Head of Russia’s National Defense Management Center Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev stated on Thursday.

"Despite all the difficulties and obstacles created by Kiev, the Russian Armed Forces evacuated 14,606 people (among them 2,328 children) from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and dangerous areas in Ukraine to Russia in the past day, without any assistance from the Ukrainian authorities," said Mizintsev, who heads Russia’s interagency coordination center for humanitarian response in Ukraine.

According to him, a total of 798,237 people, including 149,419 children, have been evacuated since the start of Russia’s special military operation. As many as 104,487 private cars have so far crossed the Russian border. The general noted that 138,014 people had been saved from the city of Mariupol without Ukraine’s participation.

Mizintsev also said that the interagency coordination center, Russia’s federal government agencies and public organizations continued to receive reports of Ukrainian residents seeking to be evacuated to Russia. "Another 573 reports came yesterday, while in total, 2,747,729 messages have been received from 2,127 Ukrainian populated localities," he specified.
