Russian investigative committee to probe into shooting at civilians in Zaporozhye

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Chairman of Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has ordered to investigate the circumstances of the use of gunfire against civilians trying to leave the Ukrainian city of Zaporozhye, the Committee’s press service said on Sunday.

"Investigative Committee Chairman Alexander Bastrykin instructed the Committee’s Main Investigations Department to collect evidence and identify those responsible to bring them to liability," it said.

According to reports in the internet earlier in the day, on March 17, 2022, Ukrainian troops opened gunfire at civilians trying to leave the city at a checkpoint in Zaporozhye. Two civilians were killed and three more were wounded.
