PM Mishustin outlines criteria for Western companies seeking to return to Russia

"First and foremost, we are considering companies that never officially announced their departure from Russia and continued operations through their subsidiaries, showing a responsible approach toward their workforce," the prime minister stated

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has outlined the categories of Western companies that may be permitted to return to Russia.

"First and foremost, we are considering companies that never officially announced their departure from Russia and continued operations through their subsidiaries, showing a responsible approach toward their workforce," the prime minister stated.

Additionally, Mishustin noted that foreign companies that exited the Russian market under pressure from Western governments but managed to retain jobs, maintain business contacts and technologies, and even incurred financial losses while keeping open the possibility of returning would also be considered.

Another category includes companies that possess unique expertise. "This is also an important factor," Mishustin emphasized. "Requirements regarding localization and investment in Russia must be strictly upheld," the prime minister underscored.
