MOSCOW, February 24. /TASS/. The Russian and Tajik presidents, Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon, have discussed steps to bolster cooperation between their countries, the Kremlin press service said after their phone call.
"Having expressed satisfaction with the current high level of Russian-Tajik strategic partnership and allied relations, the leaders discussed concrete steps to encourage mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade-and-economic sphere and cultural-and-humanitarian cooperation, as well as cooperation in the area of security," it said. "Relevant instructions will be issued to the countries’ governments, ministries, and agencies."
Apart from that, the two presidents "agreed upon a schedule for in-person contacts," the Kremlin added.
The two leaders’ latest in-person meeting was held in December 2024, when Rahmon paid a visit to Russia. Putin and Rahmon stay in touch, with meetings and phone calls being organized regularly.
