MOSCOW, December 28. /TASS/. Russia sees the elimination of threats emanating from Ukraine as one of the main goals in the fight against extremism, according to the country’s updated Strategy for Countering Extremism.
According to the strategy, the widespread occurrence of neo-Nazi ideas and the increasing strength of radical nationalist armed formations in such countries as Ukraine create "most serious extremist threats." These trends are supported by external forces that encourage crimes against Russia, including sabotage and terrorist attacks. The risks associated with extremism in Ukraine are spreading to neighboring countries and regions. The links between Ukrainian neo-Nazis and transnational criminal groups are getting stronger.
"The Ukrainian crisis is being used by unfriendly states to unleash hybrid wars against the Russian Federation and foment aggressive Russophobic sentiments across the world. In this context, one of the key goals is to eliminate the source of extremist threats emanating from the territory of Ukraine and prevent the infiltration of members of foreign and international extremist and neo-Nazi groups into Russian territory," the strategy says.
