Developments in Russia’s Kursk Region: Ukrainian commander under investigation, losses

Investigators started a criminal case against Colonel Pavlo Rozlach, who ordered cluster munitions with poisonous substances to be used in the Kursk Region

MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. Ukraine lost more than 300 troops over the past day in the Kursk area, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The enemy has lost a total of more than 38,235 servicemen since the start of the hostilities.

Investigators started a criminal case against Ukrainian commander Pavlo Rozlach, who ordered cluster munitions with poisonous substances to be used in the Kursk Region, the Russian Investigative Committee said.

Progress of operation to eliminate Ukrainian military formations

- Units of the battlegroup North struck Ukrainian military formations in the areas of Viktorovka, Kazachya Loknya, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Malaya Loknya, Nizhny Klin, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Nikolsky, Novaya Sorochina, Novoivanovka, Plekhovo and Sverdlikovo.

- Strikes by tactical and army aviation and artillery fire hit enemy manpower and equipment in the Kursk and Sumy regions.

- The operation to destroy Ukrainian formations continues.

Ukrainian losses

- Ukraine lost more than 300 troops, three tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles, three armored vehicles, five motor vehicles, an electronic warfare station and five mortars in the Kursk area over the past day.

- Since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk Region, the enemy has lost more than 38,235 troops, 232 tanks, 168 infantry fighting vehicles, 123 armored personnel carriers, 1,228 armored fighting vehicles, 1,087 motor vehicles, 308 artillery units, 40 multiple launch rocket systems, including 11 HIMARS and six US-made MLRS, and 13 launchers of anti-aircraft systems.

Investigation against Ukrainian commander

- Investigators started a criminal case against Colonel Pavlo Rozlach, commander of the Ukrainian 80th Paratrooper Brigade, who ordered cluster munitions with poisonous substances to be used in the Kursk Region, the Russian Investigative Committee said.

- The investigation established that on August 11, soldiers of Rozlach’s brigade shelled the village of Bolshoye Soldatskoye with the aim of poisoning the people there. They used 155 mm cluster munitions containing prohibited asphyxiating toxic substances. As a result, at least 20 people were injured.

- Rozlach was put on an international wanted-persons list.
