Russia views government resignation as Palestine’s internal affair, senior diplomat says

Shtayyeh and his cabinet members will continue to perform their duties until a new government is formed

MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Moscow views the resignation of the Palestinian government as an internal affair, Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian special presidential envoy for the Middle East and Africa and deputy foreign minister, told TASS.

"It’s a question for the Palestinians. We don’t interfere in their affairs; they need to sort things out between themselves," the senior diplomat said in response to a question.

Palestine’s WAFA news agency reported on Monday that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh’s government. Shtayyeh and his cabinet members will continue to perform their duties until a new government is formed.
