Ukrainian troops running on empty as Russian forces advance toward south Donetsk

Meanwhile, Russian artillery has been intensifying attacks in the south Donetsk area, the Defense Ministry added

DONETSK, December 13. /TASS/. As Russian assault teams continue to advance in the south Donetsk area, Ukrainian troops are faltering, the Russian Defense Ministry told TASS.

"T-72B3 tank crews of a combined military unit of Battlegroup East have been providing firepower support to assault units near the settlements of Urozhainoye and Novodonetskoye on the border between the Zaporozhye Region and the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said. According to the Russian defense agency, as armored crewmen of Battlegroup East have been destroying Ukrainian armored combat vehicles, firepower and manpower, the enemy is losing steam, enabling Russian assault teams to press ahead.

Meanwhile, Russian artillery has been intensifying attacks in the south Donetsk area, the Defense Ministry added.

"The situation on the front has somewhat eased, and it feels like the enemy is choking," the Defense Ministry quoted the commander of a T-72B3 tank with call sign Khatuu as saying. According to him, the enemy seems to be running out of munitions, which gives Russian artillery men a significant advantage on the front.
