Russian forces hammer Ukrainian troops in Kherson area over past day

GENICHESK, October 30. /TASS/. Russian forces destroyed an observation post of the Ukrainian army and struck amassed enemy troops in the Kherson area over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, a spokesman for the regional emergency services reported on Monday.

"Dnepr battlegroup units inflicted damage on the enemy by firepower in the Kherson direction, destroying two boats on the Dnepr River (the Ukrainian army’s casualties: 10 soldiers were killed), amassed adversary manpower at an observation post near Kruglik Island (casualties: five Ukrainian servicemen were eliminated), enemy troop clusters near Alyoshkinsky Island (casualties: 10 Ukrainian soldiers were killed), a 152mm 2A36 Giatsint-B towed gun near the settlement of Tyaginka (casualties: five Ukrainian personnel were killed and two others were wounded)," the spokesman said in a statement.

Russian forces also destroyed a Ukrainian 120mm mortar with its team and ammunition near the settlement of Ivanovka and a D-20 howitzer with ammunition near Tokarevka in the island zone and an enemy fire emplacement in the Kakhovka direction, he said.

On October 29, the Ukrainian military fired 11 artillery shells at the settlement of Kazachyi Lageri, 13 shells at Peschanovka, 14 shells at Krynki, 8 shells at Maslovka, 14 shells at Alyoshki, 7 shells at Kardashinka and 8 shells at Velikiye Kopani, the spokesman said.

Over the past night, the Ukrainian military bombarded civilian infrastructure in the communities of Novaya Kakhovka, Kakhovka, Obryvka, Podstepnoye, Krynki, Sagi and Noviye Lageri, firing a total of 32 artillery shells, he said.
