MOSCOW, February 10. /TASS/. The Kremlin is unaware what Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky had in mind when he talked about an alleged interception of a "Russian plan to erode the political situation in Moldova," Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday.

"You need to ask Mr. Zelensky. We are unaware what that’s about," he said, when asked if the plan existed or if it was misinformation.

Zelensky earlier said he gave Moldovan President Maia Sandu a document that he described as a "Russian plan of the destruction of political situation in Moldova." He asserted that the document had been intercepted by the Ukrainian intelligence service. He said the document showed who, when and how "was going to break Moldova" and "establish control over it."

Following the statement by Zelensky, the Moldovan security service confirmed that Ukraine had given it information about alleged preparations for moves to destabilize the situation in the country.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with television news host Dmitry Kiselyov on February 2 that the West is considering Moldova for the role of "new Ukraine."

The minister said Sandu wants Moldova to join NATO and is ready to unite the country with Romania. He said Moldova is one of the countries that the West "wants to turn into another anti-Russia."
