SAN FRANCISCO, November 5. /TASS/. Russia is ready for a constructive approach to the issue of ‘setting to zero’ all restrictions with the United States, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said on Saturday.
"We are ready to assume a very constructive approach regarding the issue of setting to zero all restrictions. We must start looking globally. I am saying - all restrictions. It does not mean that only visas issues. You just take a look at the number of sanctions imposed against Russia… Impossible to remember all of them, there are thousands of sanctions," he told journalists.
"Moreover, they are imposing sanctions that they are suffering from eventually. They later turn up at the [Russian] Foreign Ministry saying ‘Listen, cancel this restriction…’ We say in response ‘How come? What about our diplomats in Washington?’ [They reply] It will be settled later," Antonov noted.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in response to a request for help by the heads of the Donbass republics. He stressed that Moscow had no plans of occupying Ukrainian territories, but aimed to demilitarize and denazify the country.
After that, the United States, the European Union, and the United Kingdom imposed large-scale sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities. Apart from that, Western countries intensified weapons supplies to Kiev.
