US, West dragged into conflict in Ukraine, conducting proxy war against Russia — Medvedev

According to Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, France, to a certain extent, are conducting the so-called proxy war against Russia in a way that they are doing nothing to terminate the conflict

MOSCOW, August 26. /TASS/. /TASS/. The United States, NATO and Western nations are seeking to fuel the conflict in Ukraine and are conducting a proxy war against Russia, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday.

"As a matter of fact, the United States and its allies are dragged into this conflict," he said in an interview with France’s LCI television channel.

"As is said with the use of English-language words, the United States, the Western world, NATO, and, regrettably, France, to a certain extent, are conducting the so-called proxy war against Russia in a way that they are doing nothing to terminate the conflict. On the contrary, they are seeking to fuel it by supplying various offensive arms, from firearms to multiple rocket launch systems, such as the notorious HIMARS," he said.
