Mercenaries from UK, Morocco taken to DPR Supreme Court

The death penalty could be applied to the mercenaries as a punishment

DONETSK, June 9. /TASS/. UK citizens Sean Pinner and Aiden Aislin, as well as Morocco citizen Saadun Brahim, who are accused of participating in combat operations as mercenaries of Ukrainian armed formations, were taken to the DPR Supreme Court on Thursday for the pronouncement of their sentence.

According to a TASS correspondent reporting from the scene, the defendants entered the court territory under guard.

On June 6, the Supreme Court of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic started to consider the case of two UK citizens and a Morocco citizen who took part in military actions on the side of Ukraine.

The republic's Prosecutor General's Office had previously reported that as a result of the testimonies received from Pinner, Aslin and Brahim, their involvement in the crimes under Part 2 of Article 34 of the DPR Criminal Code (Crimes committed by a group of persons), Article 323 of the DPR Criminal Code (Forcible seizure of power or forcible retention of power) and Article 430 of the DPR Criminal Code (Mercenary activities) was established. The Prosecutor General's Office noted that the death penalty could be applied to the mercenaries as a punishment.
