KURSK, May 24. /TASS/. A high terrorist threat level in the Kursk region, which borders Ukraine, has been extended until June 8, the region's governor Roman Starovoit said on Tuesday.
"Together with the heads of power structures we decided to extend a yellow terrorist threat level for two more weeks: until June 8," Starovoit wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the head of the region, the extension of a high terrorist threat level will allow security services to keep the region's residents safe.
A yellow terrorist threat level was introduced in the Kursk region, which borders Ukraine’s Sumy region, on April 11 "in connection with possible provocations by Ukrainian nationalists." The region's border areas and checkpoints were repeatedly shelled by the Ukrainian armed forces, and several Ukrainian drones were shot down over the region.
