MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. A magnitude 6.3 earthquake was registered near Papua New Guinea on Monday, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
According to the Center, the epicenter was located 130 km east of the town of Madang, population 27,400. The hypocenter was 200 km deep.
No damage or injuries have been reported. A tsunami threat was not declared.
