High-speed train crash in Turkey caused by its collision with shunting locomotive

At least four people were killed in the accident

ANKARA, December 13. /TASS/. The Turkish Transport Ministry specified the cause of the high-speed train crash: it came into collision with a shunting locomotive, Turkish TV channel NTV reported on Thursday.

The high-speed train en route from the Turkish capital Ankara to the city of Konya collided with a shunting locomotive, which was going along the same route. Several train cars overturned in the crash and two more cars crashed into a pedestrian overpass.

At least four people were killed and 43 were injured in the accident, Governor of Istanbul Region Vasip Sahin reported earlier.
