Group on drafting free trade agreement between Customs Union, Egypt to meet before yearend

MOSCOW, August 6. /TASS/. A group on the preparation of an agreement on a free trade zone between the members of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space and Egypt will hold its first meeting before the yearend, according to materials prepared for the Egyptian visit by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, which cite the data of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The group was set up on August 15, 2014 to look at the expediency of such an agreement.

On March 31, 2015, the Russian ministry of economic development held a meeting involving representatives from the Central Bank and other Russia’s largest banks to discuss possible use of national currencies in trade between Russian and Egyptian companies.
