Putin stresses need to protect rights of domestic businesses to boost economic growth

Regulatory authorities, including the office of the prosecutor general, transitioned to a risk-based approach starting in January 2025, the Russian leader said

MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. To ensure the growth of the Russian economy, the rights of domestic business owners and entrepreneurs must be safeguarded, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Board of the Office of the Prosecutor General.

"Protecting the rights of entrepreneurs and domestic businesses is vital for our country’s growth, for strengthening economic sovereignty, and for increasing the incomes of millions of people working in industry, as well as in small and medium-sized businesses," the Russian leader said.

Regulatory authorities, including the office of the prosecutor general, transitioned to a risk-based approach starting in January 2025, Putin said, as he urged them to "clearly and consistently" implement this system. "It is essential to work closely with the business community to eliminate remaining administrative barriers hindering economic and business development while also ensuring consumer rights are protected," the president noted. These are "two sides of the same coin," he added.
