MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. Russia’s federal budget deficit amounted to 2.7 trillion rubles ($31.5 bln) in January-February 2025, according to preliminary estimates by the Finance Ministry, which is 1.6 trillion rubles lower than in the same period last year, according to files published on the ministry’s website.
"According to preliminary figures, federal budget revenues amounted to 5.34 trillion rubles in January-February 2025, which is 6.3% higher than revenues in the same period in 2024," the ministry said.
According to preliminary estimates, federal budget expenditures increased by 30.6% in the reporting period to 8.05 trillion rubles.
Deficit is largely due to forward expenditure financing this January, the ministry said, adding that it is not expected to affect the quarterly trajectory and the implementation of 2025 targeted structural balance parameters overall.
