MOSCOW, February 24. /TASS/. Russia may boost supplies of fertilizers to Ghana, head of the RSPP (Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs) Commission on Mineral Fertilizers Production and Trading Dmitry Mazepin said in a commentary aired by the Rossiya-24 TV news channel.
"I have come to Ghana for the first time at the invitation of the head of the country," he said. "Hopefully we will understand under what conditions we may extend our presence. Last year we supplied around 100,000 tons of fertilizers. We would like to increase those figures, which is why we have come to see the possibilities we have," he said.
Russia’s interests on African territory are extensive while Ghana "is of strategic importance both in terms of location and in terms of agriculture production," Mazepin added.
