MOSCOW, December 28. /TASS/. Wheat exports from Russia by the end of the first half of the current agricultural season will reach a record 29.4 million tons, the analytical center of Rusagrotrans told TASS.
"The forecast for wheat exports in December 2024, taking into account the EAEU countries, remained unchanged from the previous week at 3.7-3.8 million tons (4.06 million tons in December 2023). As a result, wheat exports in the first half of the 2024/25 season will reach a record 29.4 million tons, which will break last season's record by 1.7 million tons (27.7 million tons), "the report says.
In the first half of the 2024/25 season, Egypt became the leader in imports of Russian wheat, with 5.3 million tons exported, which is 1.8 times higher than a year earlier. Bangladesh moved up to the second position for the first time (2.14 million tons), Turkey ranked third (2.08 million tons), Algeria ranked fourth (1.66 million tons) and Kenya came in fifth (1.35 million tons).
In November, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev said in an interview with the Expert publication that grain exports from Russia in the current agricultural season (July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025) would amount to about 55-60 million tons.
