MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. The throughput capacity of the Eastern Range that comprises the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian Railroads is to grow up to 180 mln tons, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a Cabinet meeting.
"Construction and installation work has been launched at the Second Range as part of the second stage of its upgrade. First seven facilities were put into temporary operation. Preliminary parameters of the third stage were formed. We plan to reach the total throughput capacity of Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian Railroads of 180 mln metric tons as of the end of this year," the prime minister said.
Visible results were also achieved in road building, Mishustin noted. Construction of a highway from Krasnodar to Temryuk will end by the end of this year. It will connect the Don and the Taurida highways and enable increasing the traffic to Crimea up to 40,000 vehicles per day.
