DUBAI, February 29. /TASS/. Russia exports technologies for production of oil and gas in difficult-to-reach areas to Iran and applies some Iranian engineering solutions, Chairman of the Russian-Iranian Business Council at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Leonid Lozhechko said.
"We supply technologies for production [of oil and gas] in difficult-to-reach areas and we also apply technical and engineering solutions of Iranian colleagues in Russia," he was quoted as saying by Iran’s Shana agency. Around 2,500 Russian tech companies have had the experience of cooperating and interacting with Iran, Lozhechko said, adding that completion of construction of the Rasht-Astara railroad section of the North-South international transport corridor will allow "boosting trade exchange across the route of the transit corridor."
On February 28, a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Moscow and Tehran headed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji was held. Novak said that the parties signed a number of documents on cooperation, including a protocol on amendments to the roadmap of scientific and technological cooperation in the oil and gas sectors, which suggest standardization of equipment.
