The number of passengers at Sanya Phoenix International Airport, or Sanya Fenghuang Airport (South Hainan Province) Fenghuang during the Golden Week (from January 21 to 27) on the occasion of the Lunar New Year is expected to reach 513 thousand people. This is reported by the Hainan Daily newspaper.

In total, the airport is expected to serve about 2,898 flights during this period. The average passenger traffic per day will be at 73 thousand people - an increase of 14.8% year-on-year.

The resort city of Sanya is a popular tourist destination during the winter season.
