MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. The pressure of sanctions on Russia will not stop overnight and may last until the end of the decade and even longer, Director of the Institute of Economic Strategies of the Russian Academy of Sciences told reporters on Thursday.
"This could last a long time. A long time means at least the 20s. Very complex processes will be taking place, where we will see both ‘ebbs’ and ‘flows,’ along with the modification of sanctions - they have other sanctions and their own timeframe," Alexander Ageev said. "Some of them will require fine-tuning and exceptions, and companies will acclimate themselves," the scholar said.
The scenario of the one-off abolishment of sanctions is impossible, Ageev noted, having recalled the historical experience of the USSR.
"Even when the d·tente started in the 70s, we saw how challenging the cancellation of many restricting aspects was. We saw that in the 90s, when all the post-Soviet countries began entering the market economy <…>, it also did not happen all at once," the expert added.
