Trade turnover between India, Russia exceeds $18 bln in April-August

It is noted that India mainly imported energy and fertilizers in the reporting period

NEW DELHI, October 21. /TASS/. Trade turnover between Russia and India exceeded $18.2 bln in first five months of the financial year, which starts in April in India, India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry reported on Friday.

Trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $18.229 bln, according to the ministry. Its sharp rise made Russia India's seventh-largest trade partner, whereas during last year’s financial year Russia was the 25th-biggest partner of the country with total trade turnover worth $13.1 bln.

India’s imports from Russia totaled $17.2 bln in April-August, where as Indian exports to Russia amounted to $992.73 mln.

India mainly imported energy and fertilizers in the reporting period.
