Russian Far East accounts for third of direct foreign investment in Russia, says deputy PM

Around 2,600 investment projects totally worth $86 bln are being implemented today with the state help in Russia’s Far East

VLADIVOSTOK, June 25. /TASS/. Russia’s Far Eastern federal district accounts for one third of all direct foreign investment in implementation of projects on the country’s territory, Prime Minister, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev said at a meeting with a delegation from France in Vladivostok on Friday.

"Around 2,600 investment projects totally worth 6.2 trillion rubles ($86 bln) are being implemented today with the state help in Russia’s Far East. The Far East inhabited by only 6.2% of the population accounts for 32% of direct foreign investment in Russia’s territory," Trutnev said.
