According to the Russian leader, the sides also discussed space exploration

ST. PETERSBURG, December 6. /TASS/. The leaders of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) have agreed on formation of common markets for gas, oil and petroleum products, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at an extended meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

"We have approved large-scale programs for the formation of common markets for gas, oil and petroleum products," he said.

Speaking about the results of the meeting in a narrow format, he added that cooperation in space exploration was discussed.

"By the way, on the tables in front of the heads of the delegations there were panel pictures with the flags of the EAEU countries that were taken to the International Space Station and photos of the Progress spacecraft that brought them into space," Putin said. "For the first time in history, five national flags together made a unique one a trip to near-earth orbit. These are memorable gifts from the Russian presidency."

The member-states of the EAEU are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
