MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. Russian space industry enterprise Russian Space Systems (RSS) has completed work to create the domestic navigation system GLONASS and has passed the system for final tests to the client — Russia’s Defense Ministry, RSS director general Andrey Tyulin said.
"During tests, the client voiced certain remarks to us that we took into account, and on November 5 tests were resumed… We are making all efforts to complete the work. And we hope very much that the system will be accepted into service following the tests," Tyulin told the Izvestiya newspaper.
GLONASS is a Russian global navigation system, an analogue of GPS. The orbital group of the system has 28 satellites, out of which 24 are used according to the designated purpose, two are being tested by the chief designer and another two are undergoing flight tests.
