Navy development strategy to account for Ukraine operation experience — Maritime Board

The document is expected to contribute to the defense of Russia and the protection of its national interests in the World Ocean

MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Nikolay Patrushev, Russian presidential aide and chairman of the Maritime Board, has held a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development of the Navy, addressing among other things the Russian Navy Development Strategy, the board’s press service said.

"The draft of the Russian Navy Development Strategy has been considered," the press service noted. "The strategy will be grounded in the fundamental principles of fleet construction, will take into account the experience of the special military operation, as well as the current state and anticipated developments of the political-military situation in the world."

The document is expected to contribute to the defense of Russia and the protection of its national interests in the World Ocean.

Moreover, the participants of the meeting examined the draft of the Strategy of the Federal Security Service's (FSB) ship composition modernization. "The document will reflect tasks in the field of coastal guard and ensuring security in maritime border areas," a statement by the Maritime Board noted.

It is stated that the members of the Council for Strategic Development of the Navy also discussed issues of federal and other structures’ coordination with regards to the naval sphere. The meeting was attended by representatives of federal agencies.

The Council for Strategic Development of the Navy was created within the Maritime Board by the decree of the Russian president. It is tasked with drafting measures for the strategic development of the Russian Navy.
