One Syrian serviceman was wounded by a sniper in the Latakia governorate

MOSCOW, December 13. /TASS/. Four Syrian servicemen have been injured after terrorists opened fire on them in the country’s Aleppo Governorate, the deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry) said on Wednesday.

"Three Syrian servicemen were injured by mortar fire, opened by terrorists based in the districts of Mekbeys and Asus who targeted positions of the Syrian armed forces near the settlements of Bala and Miznas," Rear Adm. Vadim Kulit said.

One Syrian serviceman was wounded by a sniper in the Latakia governorate. The fire came from the district of Flaifel and targeted Syrian troops based near the settlement of Kawkaba.

A total of seven attacks on positions held by Syrian armed forces occurred in the past day, including five in Aleppo and two in Latakia. They were coming from positions held by the Jabhat Al-Nusra and Islamic Party of Turkestan terrorist groups (both outlawed in Russia).
