Nearly all documents ready for submission to CSTO Collective Security Council — diplomat

Sergey Aleinik pointed out that despite Armenia not being present, all decisions made at the summit are "absolutely legitimate"

MINSK, November 23. /TASS/. Representatives of the member countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have managed to come to a consensus on almost all the documents to be submitted to the CSTO Collective Security Council, Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergey Aleinik said.

"For two days there was a conciliatory commission on the projects that will be submitted today at the level of heads of state [of the CSTO]. We managed to agree on almost all 15 documents, which will be submitted today for consideration and approval by the heads of state," he told reporters

The top Belarusian diplomat pointed out that despite Armenia not being present, all decisions made at the summit are "absolutely legitimate." "They [the decisions] will be adopted by consensus. And I had a telephone conversation with my Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan. We discussed, inter alia, these issues and decision-making mechanisms," the diplomat said.

The Belarusian foreign minister pointed out that "in accordance with the rules and procedures of the organization, namely Rule 14.2, all these decisions are made with the consent of all member countries."

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Zhaparov, Russian head of state Vladimir Putin and Tajikistan's Emomali Rahmon arrived in Minsk for the CSTO summit. Of the leaders of all six member states, only Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not show up.
