SCO states reaffirm commitment to principle of indivisible security — Security Council

NEW DELHI, March 29. /TASS/. Representatives of SCO member states reaffirmed that they remain committed to principles of equal and indivisible security and respect to basic norms of international law during the meeting in New Delhi, Russian Security Council press office said Wednesday.

"[The participants] discussed the situation in security and stability on the SCO territory. The sides underscored their commitment to principles of equal and indivisible security, respect for basic norms of international law," the statement says.

The participants paid particular attention to "the need to defend the universal human values, the prevent intervention in internal affairs of sovereign states and to counter the policy of unilateral sanctions and restrictive measures."

The participants also thoroughly reviewed further cooperation of SCO member states on ensuring international informational, medical and biological security, and cooperation on the "anti-drug track." The sides made an emphasis on specific measures for joint fight with "transnational organized crime, terrorism and resurgence of neo-Nazism."

"The sides achieved agreements that provide a new momentum to the cooperation of SCO states in reinforcement of security, as well as development of the organization in all directions," the Russian Security Council said.

The meeting in New Delhi has become the 18th meeting of SCO security representatives. The Russian delegation was represented by Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev.
