MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. The Russian Defense Ministry has said its forces conducting a special operation in Ukraine have destroyed several positions of towed artillery pieces of the Ukrainian army.
"The Defense Ministry has released a video showing positions of Ukrainian towed artillery pieces being destroyed," the ministry’s news release said on Friday.
A drone spotted the artillery positions and guided smart ammunition to the targets, the Defense Ministry said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24 launched a special military operation in Ukraine following a request for help from the leaders of the two Donbass republics. He stressed that Moscow had no plans for an occupation of Ukrainian territories, its sole purpose being the country’s demilitarization and denazification. The Defense Ministry said the Russian forces were not attacking cities, their focus being on miliary infrastructures. The civilian population is not at risk.
